It was a long weekend . Honestly it felt a little longer with the co worker taking two days off .

I thought Derek might finish the laundry room. But No , I thought he was working on the pool but no.

I’m not really sure what he did honestly . And then does it really matter ? Nope.

The laundry it not moving as I thought it would . it’s two different colors , he doesn’t want to fix the crack . I offered. But he says I can’t do it.

The pantry well he needs a trailer , that he delivered his mustang on . Which is sadly taking forever. It’s been a month when the guy said it would only take a couple of days. So that’s frustrating I get . If I were Derek I would just go get it .

I myself didn’t really do anything. Lola and I went to get pumpkins for the garage , then had to go back on Saturday to get my sewing machine for Katie’s mom. Then delivered the machine, I know my sister called it wasn’t a good day for her 1 hour of her in the Hobby Lobby parking lot.  Where I ventured and bought 3 pumpkins.

Sunday we watched Dumplin it was actually pretty cute.  Even fat girls can enter pageants. Really want to know what Jennifer Aniston did to her mouth. Derek thinks she had too much  Botox.  It’s has a happy ending . It’s worth a watch . Then we thought how are beauty pageants still around ? With everyone getting so offended these days.  Just a thought.

Monday was a day to sleep in and that resulted in a trip to Target and Michaels looking for the bins for the laundry room shelves.  We had no luck.  Amazon it is . I joked about taking a nap . Well that resulted in a 4-hour nap. Not like me really , then had no trouble going to bed.

Tuesday rolled around  and Henry has been adopted !!! So that’s his official name but Lord only knows what he gets called at home .

I call him poochie , Daddy calls him Peete  Curtis calls him Jake . And clearly by my arms I’m his chew toy

Had the worst headache and I really think I waited to late to eat lunch but it was never ending . Then I thought it’s the weather. Jordan likes to play weather man . I informed him if it didn’t rain the weather guy was dead to me . He’s lucky . He gets to live another day . And maybe a couple more.

Raining Raining ,Raining . It really can’t get any better than this . I mean it could thunder but I’m not going to complain . It has rained for 3 days straight and not a soul is complaining really . Well the normal one but she doesn’t count. It’s been in the low 50’s and everyone seems to be in a great mood. As I write this sadly its 58 . I’m afraid the fun is coming to an end. I hear it’s to be 87 tomorrow. Sad times darling .

Thursday was an evening alone , Derek wanted Dove creek time and it worked out I baked and cleaned house just like I use to on Thursday nights. It was kinda nice . I called him this morning. I thing we both enjoyed our evening Yvette

Yvette brought us HUGE croissants today . Mine was plain , Jordan was chocolate. Not sure what she had .

What’s in store for weekend ? Derek mentioned going to Comstock to the ranch … Oh What that is . As you remember I’ll go anywhere . Anywhere but there. And now if it’s been raining it’s going to be muggy and humid and gross . But I haven’t heard it mentioned again . So we will see what happens . Fingers crossed.

515.6076 months old ! Geeze ….Friday the unexpected happened . Flowers and bundts and then Derek sent the Huge flowers ! BIG Giraffe balloon and then the birthday fairy of sending a gift everyday . And well not that I enjoyed every gift I got. But there was one. I really thought since it fell on a Saturday not much would be going on at work . But I was wrong. Work Family is kinda the best .

Saturday came and google sang Happy Birthday . And there was a very strange burrito given to me. I was not fond of it. We left the poochie at home . For a day trip to Ingram, TX to see Stonehenge . Yep you read that right.  I will say the one in London has much better weather for sightseeing. And I liked it better.

Then on to Kerrville for some homemade Italian food. So yummy. And Yes, I really did order spaghetti but I can’t make that sauce . SOOOO there. You can’t see it but I’m sticking my tongue out at you . Derek had Fettuccine Carbonara well it had mushrooms and I had no interest . Sadly there was no dessert . Everything was cream cheese .  We took it up to the BIG cross and ate lunch in the car. Derek had never been up there. Its huge . And no surprise it was hot . There was a gentleman joking with his girlfriend ” yeah they just never get any sunshine here ? ” but why is hot she replied ” It’s the fire of GOD baby ! ” it was a good laugh . It was 108 though. Then it was decision time . Do we go home ? I said “ take me to world market! “ Seriously? “Yep We are 30mins away” and so we went and it was so hot and humid to shop with a mask on . Kind of glad we didn’t do corpus just yet. And back home, Waited for Ella to finish her books so we could have a cocktail . And upon our return we  to found a really really tired puppy . Gran had picked him up to spend the day at her house and her girls let him know who was boss . And wore him out . I think he was still catching up on sleep on Sunday.

To have a pool is one thing .To have a pool you can’t get in is another. To have someone at home who is just “well I don’t know ” is plum irritating , it’s not going to fix it’s self, it’s not getting any cheaper to fix it. JUST FIX IT ! Drain it and fix it for good , fill it and just keep filling it til winter . Or fill the sucker in . You laugh . But the thought has crossed some minds more than once.  

But we haven’ killed each other yet so that’s something right ? 6 long months almost 7.

My Aunt and Uncle from Texas City are to be here for Labor Day weekend. I guess they need to come just on the uncle who had his leg removed last week and check on my grandmother. I’m really afraid they will want to use the pool . So something must be done!

It’s a wee bit green and scary  . I’m sure something is living in there. Time will tell . And that about sums it all up .

How did we survive ? Did we survive ? We did and just barley . And well it’s still questionable, there is still time .

We have returned to campus. Well two weeks ago . Fall semester resumed on Monday . Everyone is wearing mask. And in our office there is still laughter. I mean with my boss and I how is there not ?

I truly think some of the campus lost their ever-loving minds during quarantine.

I assure you many relationships were tested. Patience for sure.  Derek and I have a unique situation . Many have to remember he was not home Monday – Thursday . He came home about 2or 5 pm on Friday and left on Monday mornings at 4:30am we have never , never spent this much time together. And BAM !!! 24/7 all these months and he is still there.

However we do fight like kids , it never amounts to anything. It’s forgotten about in 5 mins.  He has definitely cost me in groceries . The man eats like a teenager. My liquor bill may have increased but that’s me keeping my sanity and if your judging you can leave now.

Derek has decided to make me a big walk in pantry for food and the big kitchen items. I have a large closet in the garage that is not used . It should be cool. If I get the paint. Now that’s the adventure . I hate Lowe’s I’m sure I have expressed this at some point .

So the week was quiet . How long will the return to campus last ? We don’t know. I think part us all want it to . And part of us did like working from . We did get things done at home and did our job. But to return to normal and get out everyday is nice and see faces again is also nice.

It’s a short semester they go home at Thanksgiving and do not return til Jan25 with no Spring Break in March. But only time will tell . Today is Friday I’m pretty sure there are no trips for tacos tomorrow. No telling what lies in sore for me . But I will be sure to tell you next week that’s a promise. I’ll keep it short and sweet ,day .

Let me first say I like to cook. I like to try new recipes. But in this situation it’s not really ideal. You can’t be sure you will get all the ingredients. So the Korean girls they didn’t know what they wanted that was easy . But Derek is picky so picky and he eats and eats . I think I cook enough to have left over and no, no.

So I get you every morning at 6am and meet Yvette to go walk 4 miles not that it’s doing me any good weight wise . But I think she likes it. She feels good. I like having someone to walk with it’s good company . They closed the KOA trials due to the evening people . Thanks guys we appreciate you… So to we attempted my mothers road . It’s extremely peaceful . I think will attempt the arroyo trail Friday and see how it goes. I’m afraid it will be closed soon too. Cause all the KOA people will go there eventfully and ruin it for us. At least we have mom’s as an option she liked it.

This is the new norm . I shop online for groceries . and do pickup . I hit the maybe the pricey store for a few things . And come home . Work figure out lunch , go on another walk. figure out my lunch, work , Call Ella . Derek goes to dove creek to water the garden and I unload the dishwasher. And reload the dishwasher. Clean floors.

Next week supplies should be here. Making bubble bath and some lotion whip.

We miss our friend Quinn so we sent her a text not that she can read so she in turn face timed us . She was so happy ! Really she just wanted to see Derek and Goldie and Louie they are the goldfish .

The children in the neighborhood seem to have PE every afternoon it entertaining in my office . And after Derek has lunch we seem to go for a walk and we find their art class time all over the sidewalks . Which we are rather fond of. I still walk in the morning with Yvette and in the evening usually by myself. We attempt the trail . But since they closed the KOA . People are starting to go there so going to my mothers . There are NO people . and it’s very quiet except for the donkey’s .

And that wraps up another week at home darlings. Not too exciting. It might get better next week you never know .

Alright so I hate to say this, But I’m loving this work from home business. I really thought I would hate it. But I still talk to my people everyday. Yvette and I go walk at 7am before our work day starts and FYI we thought we would do the KOA 1 time No, No we walked it twice. so 4 miles. Cause hey we are Awesome. And we get a sunrise out the deal too. and the temperature has been perfect in the morning. Go home shower sit down and hop to it.

Derek is usually already on a conference call when I return. So it all works out until lunch time. For him that appears to be about 11:30am . And then he needs to walk and he is the slowest walker . Okay he wants a stroll and hold hands . Which is sweet. But I’m generally out there with a purpose. It is sweet that we go for a little walk . And about 3pm he needs a snack . My office is the kitchen . I see it and hear it all. And what’s for dinner ? Do you want to make soap ? Are you really working ? Go back to your office and take a nap !!!!

Today I had time to do a grocery pick up Yay for HEB free pickup it worked out almost wonderfully. But I will not go into that detail. It will all be fine. Now if only we can get the Mamu and Papu to online shop. I told Mamu yesterday that the salons where going to close and she said WHAT ? I might as well stay at the ranch if I’m going to be ugly and can’t have my nails done. Well that would be social distancing for sure. She can’t go to church , she can’t get a haircut every two weeks , no nail appointment every two weeks. But she can hang in her jammies and work her puzzles all day .

So the trip was cancelled to Oxford Anna came home and already returned. She only brought a few changes of clothes and didn’t bring her car. Cause what you thought this would only last a week ? No cause you didn’t want to be here. And I get it. But nows she’s headed back to Oxford and in a week according to her she will come back according to her mom she’s suppose to bring her photo stuff back. Cause she doesn’t want her graduation overlooked. Alright then .

So for now it’s overcast and and all my doors are open and I am not enjoying that just so you know , my house smells weird. I gotta figure out a friends birthday rotten time to have a birthday don’t ya think ?

Week one of the hostage situation . Okay okay quarantine , Isolation . self distancing not sure what we are calling it but I know a heck of a bunch of people are NOT doing it. Cause they send me their pictures standing outside the grocery store. Really do you need it that you want to be smushed up against someone. No thanks. I have personal shopper who does not shop at that store. And he goes not a peak hour . I do tend to venture out . Not gonna lie , but Hobby Lobby I was the only person. No wink in the eye . They were so happy to see me . And they were very chatty.

So Derek is working from also. Hints the title. He wants to get up at 4am and eat lunch at 11am and how dinner falls at 8-9pm I have no idea . But that seriously isn’t working for me. So the first two day we did pretty good. Until about 8pm . He turned hateful and I was a sailor. Oh it didn’t help I poured a drink and had NO FOOD it was 10pm he decided to about 9 cause he wanted to grill. So I don’t look good in orange it’s not in my color wheel. And well Crocs. eh….

There is Arts and Crafts hour though. I have made a bunch of soap . Do you need some soap. I have lemongrass with oatmeal for exfoliation. I have Peppermint. How about some Bubble bath . Thats what I want to make next if my order would get here. It did not come from Amazon . So I wait for UPS.

Most people seem to be cooking more. That isn’t anything new in this house . I love to cook and experiment. However Flour and yeast are a problem at the store and eggs and I’m kind into bread making right now. Not that I can eat it. But I want to make it. And I know people who will eat it, so it is not a waste Right ?

I would melt glass because the amount of bottles in my possession is amazing but to drive out there melt one and drive back it not really economical . Speaking of Opal needs gas. Yvette and I are going to start walking in the morning she better not flake out on me.

People are crazy . Where was it ever said that we where suppose to buy 100 rolls of toilet paper . 100 pounds of chicken , 50 gallons of milk and eggs . Seriously who has room to stock all that ? Who can consume all of it before it goes bad. I hope they all had freezer space. But you can’t freeze eggs.

And lets get real people it’s a respiratory thing Not the real flu . You don’t need toilet paper ! Nobody cares when people get the flu . 60 million people got the flu this year and 25,000 died  and nobody cared and nobody stock piled food or anything else. And you can’t seriously tell me people are going to stay home. People have already said Oh I went to the movies , I went bowling it was packed , we had to wait an hour to bowl  seriously ! But you don’t want to be at work and you don’t want you children at school. But you sat in a crowded bowling alley  . And then you went out to eat . After you bought all these groceries .  Okay people . YOU MAKE NO SENSE.

Miss Jody made a very valid point . We could rob a bank with a booger at this point . And that is the only thing that made my sister laugh on Sunday night. Bless her she is a nurse in a Houston hospital . Crazy is running high. My sister pointed out our shopping experience is somewhat kind of what they experience during a hurricane Like the water and some food . Not all the food . Cause they won’t have a way to cook it usually they do not have electricity .

But on the upside Saturday 3 girls had green pancakes and where very happy about it. And well I did pour mimosa and to stop the talk of the virus we talked wedding dresses all kinds of things. Derek spent the night in Dove Creek was a bit annoying. But really he would have showed up ate dinner and went to bed anyway . So I talked to my sister soaked off my gel polish and put new gel polish on. And went to bed.  The girls left half a bottle of sparkling wine I made the mistake of finishing it. And I was sleepy .

Sunday rolled in gloomy and perfect and I slept in for once. It was great. Derek showed up about lunch and wanted oysters rockerfeller. That sent me to two stores. To get the supplies. So not cool. And took awhile . I also took my time just to look at the stuff people actually bought. Finally went home and made the it. And in turn he had to make me Bibigo. Which didn’t happen til 9pm cause it was raining and he wasn’t hungry and he cooked outside then finished it on a griddle which made a mess. Most of it was cleaned up before bed. Made the mistake of turning on the dishwasher. As a general rule the man eats and goes straight to bed. Didn’t realize he was staying up .

This morning he never got up . I got up got ready and he was still in bed. Kissed him bye . And at lunch he was on his way back home. He is not essential and he can work from home. We were also told we not essential employees.  But the Hag doesn’t seem to think she can do her job from home . And she also heard I didn’t want to work from home she thinks she will miss something.

Derek and I went to plant some of the garden last night . Headed home the dreaded question “Whats for dinner? Shrimp. ” I don’t want that ” Well honey you pull right into that grocery store and see your other options. Shrimp , with Garlic Parmesan Cream Sauce over pasta. I didn’t really wanted but it pacified him.

I made my green cupcakes and went to bed.

We shall see what the rest of the week holds Darlings.

Wednesday was the best day of the week . It rained , it poured . I could not go to lunch and I was okay with that. And I honestly attempted it. I took off my shoes and got in Opal and quickly realized I did not want to be on the road. Went back to the parking lot and went to the UC for lunch. I’m not sure how it is where you live . But here people tend to forget how to drive when water falls from the sky . It’s most unpleasant.

Friday was National Oreo Day . Want to put a smile on someone’s face just go around handing out packs of snack oreos. Makes for a happy day .

Saturday we attended a mass birthday party . Mass being 8 people. Derek being friends with one of them since elementary . And 4 of them being people I work with. I was by far entertaining. But we did our part. And after we did the unthinkable . We went to weenie world. Not the healthiest. Not the best idea at 9:45pm . But it sounded good and it was tasty . We crashed hard that night. I’m not sure entirely why but we did.

And then Monday came …Spring Break . Which all went to hell . I am so tired of the virus talk. I’m done. Spring Break has been extended a week which is fine. But oh the dramatics of the coworkers. I could die . I need a laptop . I need to work from home. Your young! You can be here. Until someone points out ” Compromised Immune System ” which half the time I don’t even think about it. I’m a pretty healthy I think. But the BIG kicker . The grocery store. What is this ? Nobody said you need a bunker full of green beans , and Toilet Tissue ! But yesterday on my lunch hour there where people with can goods coming out of there carts. and blocking items where you cant get them . ” excuse me I just need two cans of cream of chicken not the entire row” And as of last night there was not toilet tissue to be had in this town. My friend with a family of 5 called freaking out . She thought she was stocked and realized that she only had two rolls. And everyone has had the stomach bug in the house. So Thankfully a sweet person hit a Walmart and Market street for her. And had someone check one HEB last night . I checked HEB this morning and they were stocking . I told her to head straight there do not pass go . Seriously people Share the tissue !

It’s a quiet office only two of us. I was told not to come in today . But the boss looks super stressed and I really felt bad leaving me alone. Cause he tends to need a sound board . The girl across the hall seems to have a target on her this week so I didn’t want her here alone. And when your husband wakes you up at 5am there is no turning back . And the house is clean the shopping is done. And well if I was at home this would not get posted . Your Welcome !

St. Patrick’s day table is set , groceries are bought. I was not planning on a breakfast . But 3 ladies asked about green pancakes and who am I tell them no. And Derek well never say no . So I would not technically call it a brunch I did not send out invites . And lets face it the house is always decorated. There will just be green food tomorrow. Oh no ! I need my china ! Oh Derek , Pookie I need your help. okay back to Maybe I should do a Eater brunch for all the girls. I haven’t done one in like a year. Last time they were so loud and giggled and laughed oh they sounded like they had so much fun . I’ll need to look at a calendar.
